Right Choice Right Balance

It is often said that the characteristics that we attribute to an individual are the accumulation of many choices that are made on a daily basis over the years. Anyone of these choices could lead to an alteration in the path one ends up following and thus a change in the characteristics we see. The key action, then, is the choice that is made which will influence the decision-making processes. As a result of choices life, living becomes balanced or imbalanced; however, the objective is to live a balanced life because it brings satisfaction with purpose.

WHAT IS IT TO LIVE A BALANCED LIFE

In the Judeo-Christian belief, the creation of man in the likeness of God gives man a special position in the order of all living things and, as such, man has purpose in what he does. The ultimate result of any purposeful activity is to glorify God and in order to accomplish and experience the joy of living, you must do things pleasing to God. Now with this understanding, your body becomes the temple, a tool to be used by God, to serve humankind. We are admonished by St Paul in 1Corinthians 6:19 (KJV): “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” This then becomes a basic tenet to living a Balanced Life. We must appreciate that “balanced” does not necessarily mean that all the parts are equal, although they can be.
What it really indicates is that the components are equitable – being distributed in accordance with the relevant demand to satisfy the need. In this context what is needful should be addressed accordingly.
