Laughing Exercises

Smiling and laughing are the best exercises for your brain. They are the most effective way to supply oxygen to the head. Once you start to smile and laugh, joy emanates from your heart. You don’t need a specific reason to be joyful, for joy has been inside of us from the very beginning of our lives.

Laughing Exercise!

Step 1: Find a mirror to observe your face for a few minutes.  Look very carefully at your face: it is a reflection of the mind.  What characteristics do you observe in your face?  Is it shining or dull?  Are the muscles tense or relaxed?  Does your face look joyful or frustrated?

Step 2: Smile at yourself in the mirror.  Does it look natural and comfortable, or does it look forced and uncomfortable?  Is there tension in your face restricting your ability to display a big smile?

Step 3: Close your eyes and relax your shoulders.  Begin to smile gently and focus on your  mind.  Do you feel more relaxed now as you smile? Does your smile reflect this?

Step 4: Now make a frowning face!  Do you notice tension coming back to your face and your mood changing to sadness or feeling down?  Observe the difference in your mood / feelings when you smile versus when you are frowning.

Step 5: Think of something that used to make you laugh, such as a favorite childhood memory, a funny joke, your favorite TV show / movie. Now begin to laugh.

Step 6: Laugh intensely, shaking your whole body.  First, make your face laugh then shake your shoulders and chest. Allow the shaking to flow down to your belly button, your knees, and finally, to your toes. As you do this activity, you may even find yourself holding your stomach and rolling or kneeling on the ground with uncontrollable laughter.

You should do this exercise a minimum of one time per day!  It is the ultimate full body workout! So go ahead, laugh; it is good for your soul!
