Creativity at its height can be seen as a manifestation of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Breath or Spirit). As quoted by Rabbi Shaul (Paul) above, G-d’s Spirit gives knowledge of His will, wisdom and understanding. Our Rabbis teach that part of G-d is unknowable, beyond our human ability to comprehend; but He presents many of His attributes (called emanations) so that we may know Him. Some key attributes are: Wisdom, Love, Justice, Mercy, etc. Messiah is the perfect physical representation of the attributes; that is why He says, if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father. No one can physically “see” the Father, as only the Shekinah can be seen (visible on the Ark of the Covenant, in the burning bush, etc.). What He was speaking of is the attributes of G-d seen in Him.
The Creative Word
Being connected to G-d and having His Ruach in us sparks the ability to see Him in a whole new light. Reading scripture in isolation leads many to incorrect understandings. Having His Ruach helps us see all of scripture as a whole and this allows us the creativity to synergize a complete meaning. Think of difficult passages like Ruth marrying Boaz even though she was a Moabite. This clearly was allowed by G-d even though Israel was forbidden to marry Moabites. From this union we get King David and ultimately King Messiah. Understanding G-d’s word on issues like that requires that creativity and synergy of scripture.
We can not pick and choose what we want G-d’s word to say. We need to study scripture to show ourselves “workman approved”. With that knowledge of scripture we can then begin to allow G-d’s Ruach to mold and shape our understanding of His word. Those that take the time and effort will be rewarded with the living word that unveils greater depth and meaning with the passage of time.
The Creative Power
Using G-d’s Ruach also allows you to have more insight in understanding His word. This creative synergy is G-d’s power allowing us to be confident that His word is deep within us and permeates our very being. Many are afraid to speak G-d’s word. The Apostle says, “Do not worry what you should say, for G-d’s Spirit will bring forth the words in that very moment”. This ability to synergize G-d’s word helps us to speak confidently.
G-d’s Spirit also allows us to apply His teachings to issues not directly addressed in scripture. This creative Synergy allows us to properly address issues of our day that were not explicitly discussed in scripture. Modern challenges of: work addiction, hectic lifestyles, pornography, Homosexual marriage, amongst many others, all become clear in light of G-d’s Spirit working in our mind to give us proper understanding. This creative synergy can work in all aspects of our life to give a beacon of light illuminating our path.
We are to grow in understanding and wisdom of G-d’s word to adulthood. To do this we must be still and know He is G-d. Let His Ruach grow you to maturity. Let yourself be conformed to G-d’s desire and will. Then the Ruach will grow you in ways you can never imagine. Messiah when he left His followers to return to heaven said, “Go make Talmidim (Disciples) out of every nation”. Note: He did not say make believers, but mature disciples, speaking as the master spoke, teaching as the master taught, living as the master lived and doing the works the master did. G-d’s Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) will do just that in you, grow you to maturity, in new and exciting ways.
