TIP: Start NOW! The holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Family, friends, food, music, and and spirituality are all part of what makes this time of year so exciting! But, don’t let the excitement turn into extra pounds on your midsection. I tell my weight loss clients to drink a full glass of water before each meal. Now when you eat your meal, you should get the feeling of being full, faster. Thus, you should eat less of each meal. What if you don’t like the taste of water? Can you drink something else? The answer is NO! Com’on. Water has no taste, and if you don’t have enough will power to drink a glass of water, then any other measure designed to help you shed pounds will fail also. Shedding pounds is about determination and will power.

Qualification:Hard Exercise Works Coach at Johns Creek.

Business:Hard Exercise Works at Johns Creek

TIP: Make a decision ahead of time not to over indulge. Have a small portion of your favorite dish and/or dessert to satisfy your craving. The holiday season doesn’t have to be an excuse to eat everything in sight. Make a conscious decision and stick to it. Don’t change your exercise regimen. Get your guest and family members involved.

Tracy AdamsWEIGHT LOSS, BODY SCULPTING

Name: Tracy Adams

Business: Ambition Physique

TIP: The food… Don’t give up your favorite dish during the holiday. Instead, simply find a healthier version of it. Make recipe cards with the improved ingredients to share. This is fun if you can get the entire family to do it. You come out with some amazing new meal ideas.

The entertainment… Everyone writes down a person fitness or general health goal they would like to achieve with in a certain time period. Then fold and stick it in the “hat”. Pass the hat when everyone has their goal in. Each person picks one out of the hat and reads it out loud. The fun? You get to guess whose goal it is. Not to mention the accountability that goes with having everyone know your goal.

The white elephant gift exchange.. Everyone brings one present that is a health item. Some great examples include a healthy cook book, pedometer, scale, healthy treat, vitamins, etc. You know how the rest of it goes. Maybe you will get some great ideas too!

Kala DuncanLIFESTYLE AND DIET COACH

Name: Kala Duncan

Qualifications: AAS in Nutrition, NASM Certified in Sports Nutrition & Personal Training

Business: Online Personal Training, Diet & Lifestyle Coaching

TIP: Along with keeping your nutrition in check during the holidays it’s important to stay on track with your physical activity and quiet time. It becomes increasingly difficult to have private time with the children on winter break and everything else that comes along with the busy season. Scheduling yourself 2-3 times a week to stretch, meditate and get some kind of physical activity will pay off. You will be more tolerant of your children and spouse, and feel more confident and better. These things paired with some healthy holiday dishes should keep those extra pounds off!
